UniProtKB description:  Virulence factor that interferes with host Toll-like receptor 2 (TLR2) and TLR4 signaling, resulting in the reduction of dendritic cell maturation, inhibition of pro-inflammatory cytokine secretion and impaired NF-kappa-B activation in macrophages. Interferes with host TLR4 signaling by abolishing host TLR4-TIRAP interaction (but not host TIRAP-MYD88 interaction) and its downstream signaling (PubMed:19196716, PubMed:24265315, PubMed:24275656, PubMed:27311859). Inhibits host TLR 2 induced NF-kappa-B activation and TNF (tumor necrosis factor) secretion (PubMed:19196716). Binds phosphoinositide (PtdIns) via its N-terminal domain (PubMed:19196716). Has NAD(+) hydrolase (NADase) activity, catalyzes cleavage of NAD(+) into ADP-D-ribose (ADPR) and nicotinamide (PubMed:29395922). Also generates a cyclization variant of cyclic ADPR (cADPR), termed v-cADPR (probably 2'cADPR) (Probable) (PubMed:29395922).
