Exhibits high specificity for penicillin V (PubMed:9009066). Penicillin G and other related compounds are hydrolyzed at less than 10% of the rate of penicillin V (PubMed:9009066). Among the cephalosporins, cephalosporin C is resistant to cleavage, whereas cephalosporin G is cleaved at about 1% of the rate of cleavage of penicillin V (PubMed:9009066).
