UniProtKB description:  Chaperone of the type III secretion system (T3SS), also called injectisome, which is used to inject bacterial effector proteins into eukaryotic host cells (PubMed:18281060, PubMed:29458689). Along with YscE, prevents premature polymerization of the YscF/SctF needle protein within the cytoplasm (By similarity). Is also required for stable expression of cytosolic YscF and for YscF secretion (PubMed:29458689). May act as a scaffold to organize the assembly of YscE and YscF into the heterotrimeric complex (PubMed:18281060). Required for Yop secretion (PubMed:11035761).
