The flagellar hook is a short, highly curved tubular structure that connects the flagellar motor to the long filament acting as a helical propeller.

This family consists of a number of C-terminal domains of unknown function. This domain seems to be specific to flagellar basal-body rod and flagellar hook proteins in which Pfam:PF00460 is often present at the extreme N terminus.
