MyPDB Help

MyPDB lets users create a personalized version of the RCSB PDB that is accessible from any computer.

The starting point is the MyPDB widget in the left-hand menu. Users can create accounts, or log in to access stored MyPDB setting and functionalities.

Storing Queries

The MyPDB Saved Query Manager stores any type of RCSB PDB structure search, such as keyword, sequence, ligand, and any composite query built with Advanced Search. Once registered and logged into MyPDB, users can access this feature from the results page of any search by selecting the "Save Query to MyPDB" link. Saved queries can be re-run at any time from the "Saved Query Manager".

E-mail Alerts

Using the "Saved Query Manager"", stored searches can be set to run with each update of the database. Email alerts (weekly or monthly) will be sent when new PDB entries matching the search are released. Matching structures can be accessed directly from the email alerts.

This feature of MyPDB can also be used to have a list of all the entries in the latest release delivered to your in-box. From the "New Structures" widget on the RCSB PDB home page, select "Latest Release" and then save this query to 'MyPDB'.

Personal Annotations

Users can save personal annotations and notes on the Structure Summary tab of any PDB entry, and can add structures to a "favorites list". The Personal Annotations summary page provides easy access to all of these tagged structures and annotations.

User Account

Personal information (name, email address, account password, country, user type) can be updated at any time. All MyPDB account information is kept private and secure. When using the MyPDB feature of our website, please make sure that you provide us with your correct email and more importantly, that you whitelist any emails coming from @rcsb.org.
