Summary Table of Released Entries

A table that displays the current molecular data contained in the Protein Databank listed by experimental method.


 

Drill-down all Released Entries

Returns a Query Results page with all current holdings in the PDB archive. The Query Refinement box near the top of that page provides "drill-down" charts and links that aim to give an insight of the main characteristics of the PDB entries. (See help for Query Refinements.)


 

Status of Unreleased Entries

A chart that illustrates the status of unreleased entries.


 

Proteins solved by multiple experimental methods

Provides a list of structures that are likely to be proteins that were solved by multiple experimental methods (X-ray, NMR, or EM). The list was generated by clustering PDB protein chains of at least 100 amino acids into clusters of greater than 95% sequence similarity, and then listing only those clusters which contain at least one structure solved by one method (e.g. X-ray) and at least one structure solved by a different method (e.g. NMR).


 

Redundancy based on sequence similarity

As the single worldwide repository for macromolecular structures, the Protein Data Bank holds a body of data that contains considerable redundancy in regard to both sequence and structure. We have incorporated into the query interface the ability to select a subset of structures from which similar sequences have been largely removed.


 

By Resolution

A histogram that displays the resolution of structural data contained in the PDB irrespective of the experimental method used.


 

By R Free

A histogram showing the distribution of R free of released structures in the PDB.


 

By Space Group

This histogram displays the Hermann-Mauguin Space Group Distribution within the structures stored in the PDB.


 

By Source Organism (Natural Source)

A histogram showing the distribution of released structures in the PDB by the organism from a natural source (macromolecule was isolated from this organism).


 

By Source Organism (Gene Source)

A histogram showing the distribution of released structures in the PDB by the organism from a genetically manipulated source (genetic origin was from this organism).


 

By Top 100 Journals

A histogram illustrating the content with respect to scientific publication.


 

By Structural Genomics Centers

A histogram showing the number of released entries in the PDB from each of the Structural Genomics Center.


 

By Molecular Weight (Structure)

A histogram showing the distribution of released structures in the PDB by the molecular weight of the structures.


 

By Molecular Weight (Entity)

A histogram showing shows the distribution of released structures in the PDB by the molecular weight of molecular entities (macromolecule chains, small molecules, ions, water, etc.).


 

By Residue Count

A histogram showing the distribution of released structures in the PDB by the number of residues in macromolecules.


 

By Atom Count

A histogram showing the distribution of released structures in the PDB by the number of atoms in the structures.


 

By Enzyme Classification

A histogram showing the distribution of released structures in the PDB by the enzyme commission number.


 

Growth of Released Structures Per Year

Displays a bar chart of the yearly growth of total structures in the PDB.
